Lenovo Thinkpad is a fairly popular laptop series for professionals.

Lenovo is targeting business people so that the existing laptops are on average designed, sturdy and minimalist but still have strong performance.

One of the Lenovo Thinkpad laptop series that has a lot of fan interest is the Lenovo Thinkpad X230.

In this article, I will share my experience and at the same time review the Lenovo Thinkpad x230 laptop, which I bought on an Indonesian marketplace at a low price and good specifications.

Lenovo Thinkpad X230 Laptop Review

The following is my experience and review after several months of using this Lenovo Thinkap x230 laptop, check this out ๐Ÿ˜€ :

The Lenovo ThinkPad X230 laptop is now selling for around Rp. 2 million, of course, the second one, considering that this series of laptops is no longer being produced, but spare parts such as the case and mother board are still available.

Equipped with specifications such as CPU Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge (Gen 3), 4GB RAM and 320GB HDD.

Initially I was a little hesitant to buy this X230, because the price is close to the Lenovo ThinkPad X240. However, it turns out that the Lenovo ThinkPad X230 has several advantages over the ThinkPad X240 or even the X250.

I bought this laptop at a local marketplace for Ro. 2.6 million along with shipping costs from Java to South Sumatra. Fortunately, there are no problems with the packing package, it's also safe and sound, ehehe ๐Ÿ˜

First Impression (Body)

My first impression when I opened the package for the Lenovo Thinpad x230 laptop was beyond expectations. I thought that before this laptop was heavy and had a body or a rough surface.

When I picked up the laptop it was not hehe, the surface of the body is smooth and simple which is made of magnesium alloy and carbon fiber reinforced plastic chassis. the glass is also a mixture of glass and plastic.

This keeps it light but sturdy and resistant to impact if you accidentally drop it. This material is also not easily soiled by dust or scratched if it is hit, it is very suitable for business people or workers who are active and often have meetings with clients.

In terms of build quality, it is similar to the Thinkpad X220. Hard and tough body, followed by MIL-SPEC grade testing so that it increases the resistance of this laptop in even extreme environments.

I feel there is no sort of loss in quality here when compared to the previous generation. Both the X220 and X230 have an equivalent build quality.

Next, we will briefly review the performance of this Lenovo Thinkpad X230 Laptop, which is more than enough to carry out daily office activities.

Since its initial release, the Lenovo Thinkpad X230 has been known to be tough for everyday computing professionals.

This Thinkpad laptop has a fairly good processor, namely the 3rd generation Intel Core i5-3320M with a clock speed of 2.6 GHz and 3 MB cache. if turbo boost is active, the clock speed of this laptop can reach 3.6 GHz which is more than enough isn't it

The speed of the Intel Core i5-3320M processor makes any work run quite lightly without lag for daily use in offices or students.

I have been using this Thinkpad x230 laptop for about 5 months without any problems. I use this laptop for needs such as administration, remote web servers, graphic design and web programming.

Until now it's still steady, how about the game ..? it's a shame it's not worth it, in my opinion, for gaming, older games like GTA San Andreas can still be played comfortably. but not for other, more modern games considering that the Lenovo Thinkpad X230 was not developed for gaming.

One of the advantages of the Lenovo Thinkpad X230 is the keyboard. The ThinkPad laptop keyboard is what makes it difficult to move to another heart, hehe. Compared to using other Thinkpad laptops such as the ThinkPad X250, I know there is something missing from the keyboard, which is too soft. But not with the ThinkPad X230.

KeyboardX230 is the most comfortable in my opinion. The key travel is further than the X250. Remains soft when pressed but firmer creates a more comfortable impression. Users of the X220 or T420 series needn't worry about this change in keyboard style. Everything feels soft and crispy.

Another advantage attached to the ThinkPad is of course the spill-resistant keyboard and the red button in the middle. I'm not the trackpoint generation, but I think the trackpoint feature is quite fun haha ๐Ÿ˜

In addition, the Lenovo ThinkPad X230 keyboard has several direct buttons located in the upper left corner, such as the buttons: Mute, Volume Up & Down, Mic Mute, and access to ThinkVantage.

This Lenovo Thinkpad X230 laptop has 2 layouts, namely: US and Japan, if you have never used a keyboard with a Japanese layout, make sure you don't buy the wrong one.

Because in Indonesia there are many Thinkpad X230s circulating with a Japanese layout as well as a backlit keyboard. I am not used to and not happy with Japanese keyboards. Luckily I got a US keyboard but it was not equipped with a backlit.

But all of that was replaced with Thinklight, which is a small lamp next to the camera that can be activated as lighting if there is a lack of light when typing, it really helps me when typing programs using a text editor.

Continuing the review of the Lenovo Thinkpad x230 laptop, we will discuss audio components, ports, cameras and batteries.

For standard audio, in my opinion, with its small size but the sound is clear enough like a laptop in general and this is not a drawback, if you want to listen to music loudly you can buy speakers, right hehe.

When discussing ports, the Lenovo Thinkpad X230 is the king, not very stingy with ports, on the left and right it contains all the ports to support your needs.

ThinkPad X230 has a very complete port. On the right side there is a micro SD card reader, a USB 2.0 port which you can even use to charge your cellphone, a headphone jack, and an Ethernet port.

On the left side you will find two USB 3.0 ports, VGA and DisplayPort ports for adding screen extensions, and an ExpressCard/34 slot. There is also a WiFi on/off switch that you can use to turn off the connection to save battery.

What about the camera/webcam...? For those of you who often use the camera in video conferences or teleconferences, rejoice! The ThinkPad X230 is equipped with a Webcam which has a 720p resolution and a mic with noise cancellation which allows for a more comfortable and clear teleconference experience!

Now, for the battery, it's not just a rumor if the ThinkPad X230 promises long battery life.

With a 6 cell battery, even though I set performance to the highest level (of course with the highest display light), and heavy work like browsing and coding, I consistently get over 4 hours.

With the power-saving method and not connected to the internet, the battery measurement software shows 16 to 20 hours. very helpful is not it!

Conclusion

We can conclude that the Thinkpad X230 laptop, which was produced in the 2013 range, is still very much worth it today, even though it is a second-hand item, it can still be a mainstay to accompany you to work.

Apart from that, the Thinpad X230 Laptop is very easy to upgrade, I have made additions such as adding 4GB of RAM to 8GB, 320GB HDD to 128GB SSD and anti-scratch and radiation to protect the eyes from blue ray light.

This laptop is getting faster when I replace the HDD with SSD, interestingly it still saves battery power. Instead of not using the HDD, I bought a case to accommodate and make the external HDD pretty good for storing or as a data backup. the case is also cheap, only around Rp. 70 thousands only ๐Ÿ˜€.

So, that was the Lenovo Thinkpad (X230) Laptop Review, a cheap and stable laptop suitable for those of you who are looking for a high-spec laptop at an affordable price. so many articles this time may be useful .. !!!
